Order Stars and Stii Integrators
Order stars, introduced in 25], have become a fundamental tool for the understanding of order and stability properties of numerical methods for stii diierential equations. This survey retraces their discovery and their principal achievements. We also sketch some later extensions and describe some recent developments. Stii diierential equations rst became popular mainly during the fties; for an ...
متن کاملUnweighted p-center problem on extended stars
An extended star is a tree which has only one vertex with degree larger than two. The -center problem in a graph asks to find a subset of the vertices of of cardinality such that the maximum weighted distances from to all vertices is minimized. In this paper we consider the -center problem on the unweighted extended stars, and present some properties to find solution.
متن کاملHigh-Order Numerical-Relativity Simulations of Binary Neutron Stars
We report simulations of the inspiral and merger of binary neutron stars performed with WhiskyTHC, the first of a new generation of numerical relativity codes employing higher than second-order methods for both the spacetime and the hydrodynamic evolution. We find that the use of higher-order schemes improves substantially the quality of the gravitational waveforms extracted from the simulation...
متن کاملThe Ramsey numbers for Stars of odd Order versus a Wheel of Order nine
For two given graphs G1 and G2, the Ramsey number R(G1,G2) is the smallest positive integer n such that for any graph G of order n, either G contains G1 or the complement of G contains G2. Let Sn denote a star of order n and Wm a wheel of order m + 1. In this paper, we show that R(Sn,W8) = 2n + 2 for n ≥ 6 and n ≡ 0 (mod 2). c © 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
متن کاملLINEAR PULSATION CHARACTERISTICS OF MIRA VARIABLE STARS
The linear adiabatic pulsation-periods of Mira variable stars have been derived. Approximately 2701[1]models were calculated for M = 0.7 MΘ to 2 MΘ stars with radii from 180 RΘ to 340 RΘ and luminosities from 2800 LΘ to 10,000 LΘ. The chemical composition of all models is (X,Z) = (0.7,0.02). From the result of this study, linear relations on Luminosity-Period-Mass relationship and luminosity-pe...
